Results

Columbus - The University of Dayton Men's Tennis team improved to 3-1 overall this season with a 7-0 sweep of the Cleveland State Vikings. Senior Rob Altenau (North Bend, OH) and sophomore Tom Murphy (Carmel, IN) led the charge with victories at #1 and #2 singles, defeating Brad Groleski (CSU) by a score of 6-4, 6-4, and Eric Winn by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Altenau currently is undefeated in dual matches in the #1 singles position. He holds an overall record of 4-0.

In doubles action, freshman Chris Jones (Canton, OH) and Altenau defeated the Viking pair of Groleski and Dan Singer by a score of 8-6. Sophomore Rex Cabrera (Hoffman Estates, IL) and junior Jamison Downs (Indianapolis, IN) teamed for another doubles win against Jay Tee and Brett Aronson (CSU) by a score of 8-6.

The Flyers next challenge is February 11 against Eastern Kentucky at 7:00 p.m.
