UD senior forward Omar Jarun was one of just 54 college soccer players invited to the 2006 adidas MLS Player Combine. All 12 Major League Soccer teams will survey the pool of talent at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California from January 12-15, 2006 leading up the 2006 MLS SuperDraft. The Dayton men's soccer program has now sent a senior forward to the combine for the second-straight year.

Jarun is one of 18 forwards invited. The 6-foot-5 All-Atlantic 10 pick led UD in scoring and was second in the A-10 in goals with 10 and third in both assists (seven) and points (27). After transferring to Dayton from the University of Memphis, Jarun racked up 19 goals in two seasons as a Flyer. In two seasons with Memphis, Jarun tallied eight goals. Jarun was a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 pick in 2004, and a preseason All-Conference selection this past season. He earned a spot on the All-Championship team at the A-10 tournament as UD pounded Charlotte, 3-1, in the quarterfinals and tied No. 1 seed Saint Louis 1-1 in the semis before succumbing 5-4 in penalty kicks. Jarun tallied the lone UD goal in regulation versus Saint Louis. The Flyers finished last season 11-5-4 overall.

The 2006 adidas MLS Player Combine will separate all players into four teams and feature doubleheaders at The Home Depot Center on the mornings of January 13, 14 and 15. Players will arrive on January 12 and participate in organizational training sessions that same afternoon at The Home Depot Center.

Last year, Dayton sent senior forward Chris Rolfe to the Combine and his performance at the 2005 MLS Combine boosted his stock prior to his selection by the Chicago Fire. Rolfe parlayed the opportunity into a stellar MLS season, finishing as the runner up in the MLS Rookie of the Year balloting and earning playing time with the U.S. National Team in a Friendly versus Scotland November 13.

Four Flyers have played in the MLS, with Mark Schulte, Denny Clanton and Michael Nsien joining Rolfe.
