DAYTON, Ohio - Senior Florian DeCamps was named to the College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.com National Teams of the Week for Nov. 16 after helping Dayton claim the Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship for the first time in 10 years. The Flyers earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship.

"We all had in mind from the beginning (in 2006) that this season would be the season," said DeCamps. "The plan worked perfectly with the A-10 championship and the first time UD men's soccer team getting into the NCAA tournament. It is an honor for me and the entire team to be part of it. The team worked very hard this season."

The Flyers secured the championship with wins over sixth-seeded Rhode Island (3-2), second-seeded Temple (2-1 ot), and top-seeded Massachusetts (1-0). DeCamps tallied three goals in the tournament, including two game-winners, and was named the A-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament.

"I wanted to step up in the tournament after missing the penalty in the last conference game against Xavier, so being named tournament MVP was a great pleasure," said DeCamps. "Four players from our team made the all tournament team, but I think we could all have been named to it; the entire team did an outstanding job throughout the week end, winning three games on the road in four days.

"I think the scores this weekend reflected how the season has been for us: when our defense was having troubles, our offense was there, and when our offense was having troubles, our defense was there," added DeCamps. "We work as a team and need to keep doing so in order to go to Texas for the Final Four."

DeCamps was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection. The forward was named to two all-tournament teams this season, including MVP of the A-10 Championship. He is second for UD in scoring with nine goals and tied for the team lead in assists with five. He earned A-10 Player of the Week honors for the Flyers on Sept. 22 for his efforts in the Dayton Flyer Courtyard by Marriott Tournament. He also led the team in game-winning goals with six.

Dayton plays its first round NCAA match at UIC this Friday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
