LATE GOAL SINKS FLYERS AGAINST NO. 9 MICHIGAN

A goal in the 85th minute ended the Flyers bid at an upset of No. 9 Michigan in Friday's non-conference men's soccer match in Saline, Michigan. Chris Glinski's goal broke a 1-1 tie as UM won, 2-1. Tye Stebbins (Zionsville, IN) tallied the Flyers goal.

The loss was the first for UD versus a ranked team in the last four meetings versus top 25 squads. Dayton was 2-0-1 last season versus the Top 25.

Dayton scored the first goal of the match was a blast from Stebbins from 20-yards out that found the upper-right corner for a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute.

After halftime, Bobby Trybula tied the game with a header off a restart in the 54th minute. Glinski and Kevin Hall picked up the assists.

The teams battled in a tie game into the 85th minute, when Mychal Turpin sent a cross into the box for Trai Blanks. Blanks passed it on to Glinski who beat UD keeper Steve Ladislaw (Philadelphia, PA). Ladislaw finished with five saves.

The Flyers (0-2-1) will face Michigan State on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in their third-straight game versus a Big Ten conference opponent. Dayton returns home to host the Dayton Marriott Flyer Classic September 17 & 19. This year's field includes DePaul, Evansville and Wright State.
