Philadelphia - University of Dayton freshman midfielder Caleb Lindemann was named the men's soccer Rookie of the Week in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Lindemann scored the first two goals of his career Friday night in UD's 4-0 rout of Xavier.

Lindemann (Carmel, IN) played only 25 minutes, but tallied twice turning a 1-0 game into a romp in the 77th minute. Lindemann headed in a cross from Omar Jarun (Peachtree City, GA) at the 76:11 mark. Jarun sent a ball over the defense and XU keeper from the right flank along the end line, and Lindemann hit the deck to head the ball in from the goal line for a 2-0 lead.

Jarun scored on a restart just 1:40 later, and only another 1:01 had passed when Lindemann buried a cross from Dasan Robinson (Elyria, OH) into the right side of the net for the Flyers to cap the scoring.

For the season, he's appeared in 12 games and logged 365 minutes. He entered the game with four shots on goal on the season, and almost doubled that output versus Xavier. He placed three shots on frame of which Xavier keeper Adam Sokolowski could only stop one.

The Flyers (9-4-3 overall, 4-1-2 Atlantic 10) can wrap up a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship with a win in either of their two remaining games: Friday at Saint Joseph's (7:00 p.m. Gametracker) and Sunday at Temple (1:00 p.m.).
