FLYER MEN'S SOCCER RANKED IN NSCAA TOP 25 POLL

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's soccer team cracked the NSCAA/adidas® Top 25 National Poll and is ranked 22nd in the most recent edition. The Flyers, currently riding a 10-game unbeaten streak, also received recognition in several other national polls. UD also rocketed to 26th in the second posting of the 2008 NCAA Men's Soccer RPI, after being 104th in the first RPI. After wins against Fordham (1-0) and La Salle (3-1) UD vaulted to No. 1 in the NSCAA/adidas® Middle Atlantic Region rankings. Dayton is the only unbeaten team in the A-10 men's soccer standings at 5-0-1. Dayton (11-2-2) is ranked as high as No. 14, which is where it appears in the TopDrawerSoccer.com 2008 Men's Tournament 48 Ranking. The rankings are a running attempt to project the postseason tournament qualifiers, including every automatic conference berth. The Flyers moved up from No. 20 to 18 in the Soccer America Top 25 Poll. UD also moved up seven spots from 29 to No. 22 in the College Soccer News Top 30 National Poll. The Flyers close out their regular-season schedule with a three-game road swing. They play at Temple this Friday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m., Saint Joseph's on Sunday, Nov. 2 and at Xavier, Saturday, Nov. 8. |
