College Soccer News National Team of the Week for Oct. 26

DAYTON, Ohio -  Junior Alex Torda was named Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week for Oct. 27 after scoring two goals against La Salle and dishing out the game-winning assist against Fordham as the Dayton Flyers improved to 11-2-2 overall and stayed unbeaten in the A-10 at 5-0-1.

The midfielder was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for his efforts.

Torda has been a scoring machine in A-10 matches. In conference games, he has scored a league-high five goals and 12 points.

The Hermann Trophy Watch candidate leads the Flyers in points (19) and goals scored (8) this season.

The match against the Explorers marked the third game Torda notched multiple goals this season. He tallied two goals against Richmond (Oct. 10) - and in turn earned A-10 Player of the Week Honors - and against the Badgers (Sept. 7) to earn all-tournament accolades in the Wisconsin Middleton Sports & Fitness Invitational.

The award marks the second A-10 weekly honor for Torda this season and the third of his career. He was also named A-10 Rookie of the Week on Sept. 11, 2006. The Flyers play at Temple this Friday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m.
