DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton goalkeeper Tyler Picard was named to the Atlantic 10 Fall Sports Honor Roll for Oct. 20. It marks the second time this season that Picard was named Atlantic 10 men's soccer Rookie of the Week. And by no coincidence it is also the second time the freshman goalkeeper posted back-to-back shutouts.

This time Picard registered shutouts against nationally-ranked Charlotte (No. 26) and Saint Louis (No. 15). He finished with 11 saves on the weekend and since he has been named starting goalkeeper, the Flyers are on an eight-game unbeaten streak (7-0-1). He made a career-high eight saves in 110 minutes of scoreless action against the 49ers, the A-10 leaders in goals scored. He went on to post three saves in a 1-0 shutout upset over No. 15 Saint Louis. The win against SLU marks the first time in Dayton men's soccer program history that UD has defeated Saint Louis (1-11-1).

Picard also earned national recogntion for his performances this weekend against the 49ers and Billikens. He was named to the College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer National Teams of the Week. He was named A-10 Rookie of the Week on Sept. 22 in his first weekend of action for the Flyers when he had shutouts against Marshall and Robert Morris.

After gaining four points against the nationally-ranked opponents this week, the Flyers are ranked second in the NSCAA/adidas® Middle Atlantic Regional Rankings and are 29th in the College Soccer News Top 30 National Poll.

UD, 9-2-2 overall and the only unbeaten team in the A-10 at 3-0-1, returns to Baujan Field this Friday, Oct, 24 in another A-10 showdown against Fordham at 7 p.m. and La Salle on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
