CINCINNATI, OH - The Dayton Flyers men's soccer team took home the Ohio Cup this past weekend in spring action in Cincinnati. The Flyers posted wins over Wright State and Xavier at the University of Cincinnati soccer field.

Tyler Imbrogno set up Aaron Swanson for the game's only goal as moved on in the semifinal against Wright State, 1-0. Goalkeeper Nick Tarkany picked up the shutout.

In the day's first match up, Xavier advanced 5-4 on penalty kicks after tying Cincinnati in regulation, 0-0.

In the championship match, Xavier and Dayton played to a 0-0 tie, needing penalty kicks to win the Cup. The Musketeers shot first, and when Greg Robertson made a save in the fourth set of kicks, the Flyers won, 4-3. Robertson picks up the shutout in the draw.

"We are proud of the guys for the team effort they displayed today in winning the Ohio Cup," said head coach Dennis Currier. "We showed a lot of character playing without some key contributors and still obtaining positive results."

UC beat Wright State for third place, 2-1.

UD played without three key juniors, Dan Hartwig, Omar Jarun and Dasan Robinson.
