AMBLER, PA - The UD men's soccer team will enter next weekend's Atlantic 10 Championship as the number four seed after finishing the regular season with a 1-0 loss at Temple on Sunday. The Flyers (10-5-3; 5-2-2 A-10) finish a game back of a three-way tie for first in the A-10.

The Flyers' six-match unbeaten streak (4-0-2) came to an end, and senior forward Omar Jarun (Peachtree City, GA) saw his six-game goal scoring streak snapped.

With Charlotte topping conference leader Duquesne Sunday, 1-0, the Flyers needed a win over the Owls to share the regular season conference championship, but couldn't put a shot past Temple keeper Tony Practico.

The Flyers peppered Temple with 12 shots, nine in the second half, but Practico made three saves for the shutout.

Temple's Tony Donatelli scored the game-winning goal in the 32nd minute, scoring his sixth of the year from 20 yards out to the top left corner.

UD goalkeeper Steve Ladislaw (Philadelphia, PA) made one save in net.

Terry Alvino (St. Louis, MO), Aaron Swanson (Ft. Wayne, IN) and Caleb Lindemann (Carmel, IN) each had two shots and a shot on goal for UD. Jarun posted three shots, none on goal.

Dayton's seed was not affected by the loss as UD would have been the fourth seed even had they won due to the conference's elaborate tie-breaker methodology.

With the win, Temple (6-10-2; 3-3-2 A-10) moved into a three-way tie for fifth-place in the A-10, but Charlotte and Massachusetts earn bids over the Owls.

Charlotte will be UD's opponent in the A-10 tournament's quarter final round. The top six teams make the tournament with Saint Louis and Duquesne earning the top two spots and byes in the first round. Rhode Island will meet six-seeded Massachusetts Thursday, and the Flyers will take on fifth-seeded Charlotte.

The 2005 Atlantic 10 Championship begins Thursday at Saint Louis' Hermann Stadium. Dayton will play the late game, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Eastern, 38 minutes after the conclusion of UMass versus Rhode Island.
