Box Score

DAYTON, Ohio - Dayton (5-9-2, 1-5-2) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 55th minute, but visiting Richmond (9-5-4, 6-0-2) scored twice within the next 23 minutes to force a tie Saturday at Baujan Field in Dayton, Ohio.

Delano Pierre fired Fynn Glover's corner kick into the back of the net at the 66:40 mark for the game-tying goal. It was Pierre's third goal of the year.

The Spiders' comeback started in the 57th minute when Kern Gardiner and Stephen Chareczko set Callum Thomas up for a successful man-on-man battle with UD goalie Nick Tarkany. It was Thomas' second goal of the year.

The Flyers took the lead 65 seconds before halftime when Tyler Imbrogno redirected Antti Arst's corner kick into the back of the net.

The same combination had the same result nullified three and a half minutes earlier by an official's whistle for offsides.

UD extended the lead on Jeff Popella's first career goal. Popella took a pass from Florian DeCamps, wheeled and fired the ball past Richmond goalie Matt Cully.

The tie, along with Xavier's tie Friday, officially eliminates the Flyers from postseason play.

Richmond and Dayton played at 11 a.m. Saturday because of heavy rain in the area Friday.
