Alex Aldaz joined the Flyers from the University of Redlands in California, where he completed a two-year stint as graduate assistant coach while receiving his master's degree in Education. During the 2002 and 2003 seasons the Bulldogs captured back to back Southern California Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (SCIAC) championships and NCAA tournament appearances, finishing in the western regional finals twice. This included national finishes ranked 9th and 11th respectively. The 2003 year also included the NCAA D-III National Scoring Offense Award given to the leading offense in the nation, scoring 92 goals in 19 games. Prior to his experience with the Redlands Bulldogs, the native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, served as an assistant men's soccer coach at Schreiner University in 2001, assisting with training and game day coaching. Aldaz also coached at the Austin Flyers Soccer Club for four years, where he led the team to a state cup title in 2000. As a player, he played on the San Antonio Pumas and Austin Lone Stars of the United Systems of Independent Soccer Leagues and Idaho Wolves of the Men's Premier Soccer League. A 2000 graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Economics, he helped the UT club team win the NCSA National Championship. Aldaz holds a National Diploma from the NSCAA. |
