Coming off a sixth place finish in their season opener, the Dayton Flyers return to the links at the John Dallio Memorial starting Sunday, Sept. 21.

Hosted by DePaul University, the two-day tournament will be held at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, Ill. Ruffled Feathers Golf Club features a 6,898 yard, par-72 course with a rating of 74.1.

Designed by the legendary Pete Dye and his son P.B Dye, Ruffled Feathers Golf Course offers 18 unique and demanding holes in a superbly crafted setting. As the only Dye-designed golf course in the Chicago area, this premium golf jewel has been hailed with Best New Course honors from Golf Digest and Golfweek magazines.

Behind a third round 72 from senior Matthew Friend the Flyers roared back in their first tournament of the season to finish tied for sixth out of 13 teams at the John Piper Intercollegiate. Friend, who previously shot two rounds of 78, finished tied for 28th overall with a total of 228.

The top Flyer finisher was senior Rob Chappell who bounced back from two rounds of 76 to also shoot a 72 in the third round. Chappell finished with a total of 224 and tied for 16th among individuals.

Last season at the John Dallio Memorial, the Flyers finished in a tie for eighth out of 13 teams. Leading the way for the Flyers was Zach Glassman who tallied a final round 74. He finished the tournament tied for 11th with scores of 75-75-74 for a 224. Tied with Glassman was Chris Woeste who recorded a 78 in round three to go with back-to-back rounds of 73 in day one.

This will be the second consecutive season the Flyers have played in the John Dallio Memorial and third time in the previous four years.
