FLYERS END DAY ONE IN 11TH AT CSU TOURNAMENT
Feb. 19, 2007 CHARLESTON, S.C. - Senior John Zaller fired back-to-back scores of 80 to pace the Dayton Flyers to an 11th place finish after day one in the Charleston Southern University Spring Kick Off Tournament. As a team Dayton shot a 661 tallying a 332 in the first round and a 329 in the second. In the spring season opener for UD, Zaller finished tied for 44th overall after two rounds of play. Sophomore Rob Chappell fired an 83 and an 82 to finish second on the team. Senior Sam Morton showed a solid improvement shooting an 86 in the first round and an 81 in round two. Sophomore Mitch Custenborder recorded scores of 83 and 86, while freshman Kenny Wittenberg added a 91 and a 90. The Flyers return to action for day two of the CSU Spring Kick Off Tournament on Tuesday. |
