DAYTON MEN'S GOLF PLACES IN 13TH AT THE UD FALL INVITATIONAL

KETTERING, Ohio - A final round 76 from freshman Sean Keating was one of the highlights as the University of Dayton Flyers finished in 13th at the 2009 UD Fall Invitational. Keating, who was competing as an individual, was the Flyers' best finisher tying for 16th after tallying scores of 75 and 76. Other individual finishers for UD included freshman Matt Buse who tied for 25th overall after carding a 79 in round two. Freshman John Muir bounced back from a 79 in round one to tally a 75 in the second round and finished tied for 29th. Junior Jeff Hodapp rounded out the scoring with scores of 77 and 79 to place in a tie for 42nd. In the team results, freshman Brenten Blakeman enjoyed the best day overall with a 75 in round two. Blakeman finished tied for 29th. Junior Chris Woeste completed round two with an 80, sophomore Michael Oberschmidt added an 81 and freshman Zak Hadaway bounced back from a first round 85 to card a 76 in the final round. As a team, UD shot a 312 in the final round, a slight improvement from the 320 in round one. Ball State University won the UD Fall Invitational after carding scores of 305 and 291. Malone University golfer Justin Lower earned medalist honors after scoring rounds of 73 and 69 in the invitational. This is the final event for the Flyers during the 2009 fall campaign. |
