MEN'S GOLF NINTH AFTER SOLID SECOND ROUND AT ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIPS

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - After a day that saw three Flyers shoot within three shots of par, Dayton sits in ninth place after two rounds of the 2006 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championships at Orange County National Golf Course. Dayton looks to work is way into the top half of the field during Sunday's final round beginning at 8 a.m. ET. Brett Gould remained as the highest UD individual with a two-day total of 145. After a two-under-par 70 in the opening round, Gould carded a 75 on Saturday to tie for 18th place after two rounds. He sits nine shots back of the leader, Jordan Utley of Richmond, and just three shots out of the Top 10. The duo of freshman Rob Chappell and junior John Zaller each fired a one-over-par 73 on Saturday to lead the Flyers. With back-to-back rounds of 73, Chappell is tied for 25th while Zaller is tied for 44th with a two-day total of 154. Freshman Matt Friend is knotted with Zaller in 44th place individually after a 79 in the second round. Senior Adam Meyers is tied for 55th place to round out the Flyer competitors. |
