    HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Led by a third round 74 from sophomore Chris Woeste, the Dayton Flyers finished in seventh at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship.

    Woeste closed the third round strong with three birdies on the back nine and ended up with a 232 total. He finished tied for 24th among individuals.

    For the second consecutive year, senior Rob Chappell earned a First Team, All-Atlantic 10 selection.

    Chappell finished slightly ahead of Woeste overall after tallying a third round 80. Chappell, last year's A-10 Individual Champion, completed the 2009 tournament tied for 19th with a 229 overall.

    Freshman Michael Oberschmidt once again had a solid showing firing a 77 in round three. He completed the championship with a 236 total and finished in 30th among individuals.

    Sophomore Jeff Hodapp continued to improve throughout the tournament. After rounds of 81 and 80, Hodapp closed the championship with a third round 78, closed the event with a total of 239 and placed in a tie for 34th.

    Senior Mitch Custenborder closed out his career on a positive note. He tallied his best round at the A-10 Championship firing a 76 in round three. Custenborder finished with a 240 total and tied for 40th.

    As a team the Flyers shot a 305 in round three. UD shot a 313 and a 312 in the first two rounds to complete the championship with a 930 total. The Charlotte 49ers won the event for the fourth consecutive season with an 872.

    The Flyers will lose five seniors from this year's squad: Chappell, Custenborder, Mark Juve, Matthew Friend and Nick Trubee. However, coach Chris Hale has a strong recruiting class joining the Flyers as six freshmen will be on the 2009-10 roster.
