MEN'S GOLF TAKES THIRD AT EAGLE CREEK GOLF CLASSIC

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Freshman Mike Molnar carded a three-over par 73 to help the University of Dayton men's golf team to a third place finish at the Eagle Creek Golf Classic hosted by Northern Kentucky University Tuesday. Molnar, an Alter High School grad, shot his career low round on the par-70, 6,306-yard Eagle Creek Golf Course and tied for eighth overall. Senior Tim Skufca posted a 75 to finish 11th. Sophomores John Zaller and Sam Morton were tied for 14th with a pair of 78s. Freshman Jeff Heisler finished 19th with a 79. Freshman Matt Doherty carded an 80 to finish in a tie for 20th, while junior Mike Fink shot an 84 to finish 22nd. The host Northern Kentucky won the men's event with a team score of two-under par 278. The Flyers will return to action Monday and Tuesday hosting the UD Spring Invitational in their final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championship. The 10-team men's field will play at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace in Centerville. |
