The Dayton men's golf team sits in third place after day one of the UC/UD Invitational on Monday at Clovernook Country Club in Cincinnati. Leading the Flyer attack are junior Adam Myers (Franklin, OH) and senior A.J. Quinter (Minster, OH) both carding a 75 to finish 5-over par for the day.

As a team, Dayton carded a 304, and is eight strokes off the leader after round one.

Both Myers and Quinter are tied for sixth place, followed by sophomore Sam Morton (Centerville, OH) and senior Bill Everding (St. Louis, MO) who both finished with a 76 (+6) and are tied for ninth. Next for the Flyers is senior Tim Skufka (Chardon, OH) with a 78 (+8) tied for 17th, and rounding out the attack for UD are seniors Brett Gould (Dayton, OH) and freshman Matt Doherty (Strongsville, OH), both shooting an 81 (+11) tying them for 22nd at the par 70 course.

The team leader going into the second round is IUPUI with a score of 296, followed by Cincinnati 297, and Dayton 304.

Drew Shafer of IUPUI leads the race all golfers after carding an opening round score of 71.

The Flyer men look to catch up to the leaders as the UD/UC Invitational continues Tuesday with the final 18 holes of play. The second round is hosted by the University of Dayton and will be held at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace in Centerville.
