April 3, 2006
OXFORD, Ohio - The Dayton men's golf team battled through cold, rainy and windy conditions to finish fifth and sixth in the UC/UD Collegiate Invitational. The Flyers are co-hosting the tournament, which will conclude Tuesday, along with the University of Cincinnati at Hueston Woods Golf Course. UD's "A" Team had a 323 after the first round, just one shot better than the "B" Team score of 324. The senior duo of Brett Gould and Adam Meyers paced the "A" Team with identical rounds of 79 each and are tied for 10th place individually. Junior John Zaller is tied for 18th place and is just two shots back with an 81. Freshman Nick Trubee and sophomore Matt Doherty carded first-day totals of 84 and 89 respectively. |
