Brad Smith, PGA member, served as the head coach of the men's golf team from the 2001-02 season until February 2006. He was also head coach of the women's team beginning with the 1996-1997 season.

In his second season with the men's team, the team was fourth in the Atlantic 10 Championship. This tied the highest place recorded by the men's team in championship play. During this season, the men also recorded a first place finish at the Cleveland State Invitational. The 2002-03 season also saw a win by the women's team at the Ashland College tournament, with a team record low of 309.

Smith is currently a PGA teaching professional and has been a PGA member for 18 years. He has been a certified member of the Professional Clubmaker's Society since 1994. He is owner and operator of the Golf Doctor, a full service golf company located in Springboro, OH. Smith is a former club pro and high school coach. He began his golf career as an assistant golf pro at Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 1985 to 1989. He served as assistant pro at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond, IN 1989 to 1991. During his time in Richmond, Smith was also a volunteer assistant coach for Richmond High School. Smith was the head professional at Winchester Golf Club in Winchester, Indiana, from 1992 to 1995. While in Winchester, he served as the golf coach for Winchester High. He guided the boy's team to a conference championship in 1995.

Smith is active in junior golf programs in Dayton. He currently directs the UD youth golf camp. For information on future camps, please click here: www.personalgolfinstruction.com. He directed the Nike Junior Camps for four years. In addition, Smith has instructed at the Peggy Kirk Bell junior camps in Pine Needles, North Carolina. He is the golf instructor at Middletown Hospital SPorts and Medicine Warm Up to Golf Program. Smith volunteers his time as a golf instructor for ForeHope, an organization designed to help golfers with disabilities.

Smith graduated from Ohio University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in marketing. He and his wife, Teri, have two sons, Spencer and Tyler. The Smith family resides in Springboro.
