The Dayton Flyers will once again turn to one of their alumni as Gip Hoagland serves at UD's head men's golf coach. The Dayton native and 1993 UD graduate should help the program continue to excel with his experience and understanding of today's game. He is a Class A PGA Professional and Head Professional and Director of Operations at Penn Terra Golf Course. This will be Hoagland's second season with the Flyers. During the 2008-09 season he served as a volunteer assistant on the Flyer men's golf staff. Prior to UD, Hoagland served as tournament chairman for the Dayton Chapter of the Southern Ohio PGA. In 2005 he was named the Southern Ohio PGA Apprentice of the Year and served as the Apprentice Association Chairman for two years. In 1993 Hoagland graduated the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He also served as the Assistant Golf Professional at Penn Terra Golf Course for four years soon after and also worked as a Miami Valley Golf Club Teaching Professional. |
