RESCH NAMED PFL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Oct. 25, 2004

University of Dayton senior kicker Jason Resch (Poland, OH) has been named the Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week after going six-for-six in PAT's in UD's 49-10 win over Butler on Saturday.

Resch, a 2000 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, remained perfect in point-afters this season. He is now 35-for-35 on the season. Resch is the PFL's second-leading scorer this season (8.1 points per game). He is currently 26th in career scoring at UD (138 points) and needs just one point to move into the top 25.

This is the third time in eight games this season Resch has been named PFL Special Teams Player of the Week.

A pre-season All-American, Resch led UD in scoring last season with 73 points.

The Flyers, ranked #1 in the Sports Network and Football Gazette NCAA Division I-AA Mid-Major ranking, are back in action Saturday when they host #4 Drake. A berth in the PFL Championship game on November 20 will be on the line.

Drake is shooting for the win that will clinch the PFL North Division title and advance the Bulldogs to the PFL finals at Morehead State, the South Division winner. A Dayton win would keep the Flyers' title hopes alive (along with San Diego's) going into the regular season finale at USD on November 6.

This Saturday's game with Drake kicks off at Welcome Stadium at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
