DAYTON ANNOUNCES 2007 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
April 20, 2007 The 2007 University of Dayton football schedule is highlighted by seven games against fellow Pioneer Football League opponents, as well as three games against opponents the Flyers haven't faced in over ten years. The Flyers will also play the two-time defending PFL champion San Diego Toreros at home. Dayton will open the 2007 season on the road against Robert Morris on September 1 at 1:00 p.m. EDT. The Flyers beat Robert Morris in the home opener last season 21-14. UD will then host Urbana and Central State on September 8 and 15 before returning to the road to play Fordham on September 22. The Flyers have not played Urbana since 1993, Central State since 1978, and Fordham since 1979; and have a combined 8-1 all-time record against the three non-league teams. The Flyers will travel to Morehead State on September 29 to begin PFL play. They will then host Jacksonville and Davidson, before returning to the road to play Valparaiso. UD will then host San Diego and Butler before finishing the regular season on the road against Drake. The winner of the PFL will host the winner of the Northeast Conference in the Gridiron Classic game on November 17. Dayton has not been shutout in 341 games, which is the longest active streak in NCAA football. The Flyers, who were 4-6 last year, will conclude spring practice Saturday at Welcome Stadium with the annual Red & Blue Game. The game, which kicks off at 3:00 p.m. EDT, will be preceded by a free cookout that begins at 2:00 p.m. EDT. Both events are free and open to the public. University of Dayton 2007 Football Schedule
