Dayton Flyer offensive linemen John Grimes turns in his report card for the Chicago Bears before Super Bowl XLI.

Chicago Bears - By John Grimes
Offense:
The Bears have a very solid running game. Rex Grossman has been a very inconsistent passer throughout the season. The difference maker will be Grossman's play. If he is hitting open receivers it could be a long night for the Colts Defense.

Grade: C+

Defense:
While good defense is what the Bears are known for, they struggled to maintain this reputation toward the end of the season. However, their defense has bounced back in the playoffs and is very capable of making game-changing plays. Look for the Bears defense to start out the game playing tough, trying to make a statement to the highly praised Colts offense.

Grade: A-

Special Teams:
The Bears have a very solid kicking game thanks to the consistency of punter Brad Maynard and place kicker Robbie Gould. Returning the ball for the bears is cornerback Devin Hester, the former Miami Hurricane star who is always capable of taking one to the house.

Grade: A-

Coaching:
Lovie Smith has done an excellent job with the Bears this year. However, his inexperience in big games could prove costly for the Bears.

Grade: B

Intangibles:
While the Bears are not as experienced as the Colts, they have thrived this postseason in the role of the underdog. Early lines show the Colts as the favorite, putting the Bears in a familiar role.

Grade: B
