"The team is disappointed, when we get back and look back on it all, I think they will realize that we had quite a year. We overcame so much. We had a first-year coach, a lot of players in new positions and then the injury bug hits us at the end of the year."

"When you have two championship-caliber teams, it often comes down to turnovers and the kicking game, and that was the difference in the game today."

"I told the team after the game I wouldn't have wanted to trade places with any other coach this year. There isn't any other team I wanted to have for my first season as a head coach. I was so proud of them, how they fought to the end. We dug ourselves a hold there, but they lived up to and added to our football tradition."
