AT DAYTON:
Zapinski figures to see plenty of time in the backfield this season after backing up Ben Shappie the last two seasons. In the 2008 season, Zapinski saw action in eight games. He carried the ball 10 times for 51 net yards. Zapinski lettered as a freshman, seeing action in nine games in the 2007 season. He carried the ball 16 times and gained 86 yards (4.9 yards per attempt) and scored a TD. He was a member of the 2008 PFL Academic Honor Roll.

PERSONAL:
Son of Rob and Sue Zapinski....Born on January 29, 1989....Has one brother and two sisters....Majoring in Education at UD....Andy was a three-sport team captain (football, basketball, baseball). He was First Team 3A All-Illinois, an All-State selection in football and a three-time All-Conference honoree in both football and baseball. He was a member of National Honor Society and finished top 15 of his class.
