AT DAYTON: Swartz did not play in 2008 after suffering an off-season leg injury. Swartz earned his second letter in 2007, converting five of seven field goals and 21 of 24 PAT's. He also punted 14 times for a 35.9 yards per punt average. Swartz was named the PFL Special Teams Player of the Week after the 2007 season-opening win at Robert Morris where he scored 11 of UD's 23 points by going three-for-three in field goals (including a career-long 40-yarder). He came on in the last six games of 2006, taking over UD's punting and placekicking duties. He punted 31 times for a 38.6 yards per punt average, with eight downed inside the 20. He was also 9-for-11 PAT's and two-for-three in field goals. He did not play in a game as a freshman. He was a member of the 2005, 2006, and 2008 PFL Academic Honor Rolls. PERSONAL: Son of John and Donna Swartz...Born on July 4, 1986...Majoring in Business Administration and Pre- Med...Was First Team Division III All-Ohio as a kicker. He was also captain of Bishop Watterson's baseball team. A member of the National Honor Society, he also plays the piano and guitar in his free time (whenever a Pre-Med double-major student-athlete has free time). |
