AT DAYTON: Mong and Matt Marshall give UD a solid "pick-your-poison" rotation at fullback. At 6-2, 227 pounds (the biggest Flyer fullback in 30 years), Mong supplies the power. His five TD's in 2004 and his twelve in 2005 were the most rushing TD's for UD in those seasons, and he has not been thrown for a loss in his collegiate career. He played in all ten games in 2005. He ran the ball 230 yards in 61 carries (3.8 yards per carry and 23.0 yards per game), and he caught two passes for 14 yards. In eight games in 2004, he gained 236 yards on 47 attempts (5.0 yards per carry) and caught two passes for 17 yards. In 2003, Mong lettered and played in all 11 games, mostly in short-yardage situations. He had six carries (4.7 avg.), caught two passes for 18 yards, and returned one kickoff for eight yards.

PERSONAL: Son of Scott and Pam Mong...Born on October 18, 1983...Majoring in Industrial Engineering Technology...In high school, he was a three-sport athlete (football, basketball, and track). He was captain of both football and basketball his senior year. As a football player, he was selected Central Ohio Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-Ohio. His team was in the state playoffs both his junior and senior years.
