Magoteaux steps into the role of Dayton's lead linebacker this season after earning his first letter a year ago. Magoteaux played in all 11 games in 2003. He had 11 tackles (6 solo), one tackle in the backfield and one interception. He played in five games in 2002 had five hits. As a freshman, he had two tackles in spot varsity play. Magoteaux was named 2003 Second Team Academic All-District. He also was named the recipient of the John L. Macbeth Award, which goes to the junior or senior on the team who has the highest GPA. He is a three-time member of the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll. PERSONAL Son of Steve and Karen Magoteaux...Born on October 25, 1982..Is majoring in Mechanical Engineering...He was team captain, selected first team all-conference, first team all-district and First Team All-Ohio while at Piqua High. He was selected to play in the Ohio North-South All Star Game as well as the BIG 33. Magoteaux also played basketball and baseball and was selected Piqua's Most Outstanding Senior Athlete in 2001. He was his class' salutorian. |
