AT DAYTON: Dence played in ten games in both the 2004 and the 2005 seasons as a cover guy on special teams as well as a backup QB. In 2005, he rushed for 195 yards and completed ten passes for 124 yards. In 2004, he ran the ball eight times for 27 yards, and completed both passes he threw for 24 yards. As a sophomore, he saw action in four games and ran the ball eight times for 40 yards. He is a three-time member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Son of Thomas and Kathleen Dence...Born on September 16, 1983...Majoring in Mechanical Engineering...A three-sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball) in high school, Dence lettered in all three for three years. As a football player, he was First Team All-Ohio and Northwest Ohio Offensive Player of the Year. He was first team all-conference both his junior and senior seasons after combining to account for 5,510 yards in total offense and 61 touchdowns. He was a two-time team captain and led both his junior and senior teams into the state playoffs. Dence was honored as a Scholar-Athlete by the Toledo Chapter of the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame.
