At Dayton:
Burns is projected to start at safety in 2009. Last season, Burns saw action in all 12 games, starting in ten. On the field, he tallied one touchdown, one punt return (for 35 yards), two interceptions and was fifth on the team with 52 tackles.

After suffering a knee injury in 2006, Burns returned for the 2007 season and played in all 12 games. He recorded 21 tackles, one fumble recovery, and an interception that he returned for a touchdown. Burns redshirted as a freshman.

Son of Lori and Kevin Burns...Born on May 21, 1986...Majoring in Marketing... Burns was team captain at Libertyville High, leading his team to a state championship and a 27-1 record over the last two years. He holds his high school's record for interceptions in a season (10). Burns also participated in track and field.
