FORMER FLYER STAR BRIAN ROBERTS TO PLAY IN TWO NBA SUMMER LEAGUES



Former Flyer Brian Roberts led Dayton in scoring, three-pointers, free throws and minutes last season

The University of Dayton's Brian Roberts will be a bicoastal professional basketball player this in the next two weeks as he will play for two NBA teams in the Orlando and Vegas summer leagues.

Roberts will play for the Orlando Magic entry in the Orlando Pro Summer League July 7-11, and then Roberts will catch up to the Los Angeles Laker team that will play in the NBA Summer League Presented by EA Sports July 13-19.

Teams playing in Orlando are the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets, Oklahoma City and the host Magic.

    Participating in the Las Vegas league are the Charlotte Bobcats, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards.

    Roberts, a 6-2 senior guard from Toledo, Ohio, led the UD men to a 23-11 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the NIT. He led Dayton in scoring (18.4), three-pointers (100-220, .455), free throws (111-129, .860) and minutes (34.7).

    Roberts ended his career in the UD Top Ten in 10 statistical categories, including #1 in three-pointers made (293) and 3-pt. FG% (.441, 293-665). He was a three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, and was a finalist for the Wooden, Naismith and Cousy Awards, in addition to the Lowes Senior CLASS Award.
