Head Coach Brian Gregory
"Our half court defense won us the game. We caused turnovers and had big steals in the game. It is a good win because it is a win. However, these are the way games go especially at this time of the year. We were able to force 23 turnovers against Wofford, that is an unbelievable feat."

"I was proud of the way our guys grinded it out tonight. We forced 23 turnovers against that their disciplined system and still held them under 40 percent shooting tonight. We have a long way to go, but it is easier to work on things and get better after winning a game like that."

"Defensively I thought that Marcus Johnson did a good job. The problem that happens with Marcus is that he usually defends the best player. So if he makes a mistake, then there is a good chance that their player is going to score. I feel that we did a much better job in the second half of keeping their top-scorer Tim Johnson at bay."

"It was a good win for us. It was our first game and we have a lot to work on. It showed in that last quarter of the game what we need to focus on, but we got the W."

"We're trying to get the ball in the post to Kurt (Huelsman) and the big guys and we're not doing a good enough job of that. It's something we have to work on. We have to keep the ball moving and pound the ball inside."

"The veterans did step up. It was a close game coming down to the final possessions. We had to lock down on defense to get the stops."

"We played great half-court defense. Sometimes we struggled in the full court, but we pulled out in the half-court in the end."

"It was pretty interesting. I can't say nothing about it before the game. I was so amped and hyped to play. I think it was a good opportunity to show my talent."

"I think we need to calm down and be more poised. We were taking a lot of quick shots, more than usual. We just need to calm down and take better shots. Right now we are just rushing. Offensively, we haven't been bad, just not poised enough."

"Most likely I want the ball in my hands. When there's 10 seconds left, coach tells me to go get the ball. I feel like I can create plays for my teammates and myself."

"It was pretty tough out there. There was a lot of excitement and we were happy to be out there on the floor. You have to give a lot of credit to Wofford. They were real sound, they ran their stuff really well and they were well coached."

"We might have been a little overexcited but I felt we did a really good job of locking down on defense. We pride ourselves on defense. When we force a lot of turnovers and force them to shoot 40 percent from the field, we did a pretty good job of locking them down."

"First and foremost we need to rebound better. They outrebounded us by 10. We just need to get out there and grind it out. It all starts from working hard on defense and rebounding."

"We just have to be poised, patient and execute our offense. Our stuff works, we just have to go out and execute."
