"I thought in the second half we did a better job of moving the ball and moving people around. We made some effort type plays that kept us in the lead."
"I thought our big guys did a good job defending him (Ian Vouyoukas) because he made some very big plays. Overall I thought our defense effort was good. We held them (Saint Louis) to 20 percent from three-point range, it was just an overall tremendous effort."
"We're starting to develop an identity with some grit and toughness; we made some mistakes, but our guys are learning to compete."
"We've done a good job making some free throws in a clutch situation. I believe he (Plummer) was going to make them. I felt good about it."
"It's tough to say goodbye in a home game to Monty (Scott) and Nick (Stafford) with all the stuff they've done on and off the court, but it's a pretty good way to do it. A record of 15-2 (at home) is a heck of an accomplishment. I think our fans and the community can be proud."
"I think maybe six weeks ago the team wouldn't have played as well as they did last week in those losses. I don't think the team last week would have made some of the gut check we did this week and that's progress."
Norman Plummer "(Vouyoukas) is a great player. He's huge. I just want to keep him as far away from the basket as I can and make him shoot over me. I think I accomplished that for the most part." "We've won two straight going into the (A-10) tournament. Now we have to take it one game at a time and focus on Wednesday. We can't worry about tournaments, it's about Wednesday. "It was a great game. Double-overtime, you can't ask for more. The fans got what they paid for." Charles Little "The pass was a little lazy, so I tried to get in the lane and got a piece of it. After that, I just took it to the hole." "This gives us a big boost going into the (A-10) tournament. This is a big win." "That was clutch. Norman said he's never had that big of free throws in his life, but he came through for us." Andres Sandoval "It's about me shooting before practice and after practice getting confidence. I'm not worried about taking my shot. Obviously, I hit it today. I have to keep working on shooting before practice and after practice and keep hitting shots like that." "Everyone on different nights can contribute. Tonight was my night. Everyone contributes for the good of the team." Saint Louis Head Coach Brad Soderberg On the end of regulation: "We had to rush the ball down court, but we had no timeouts to get organized. Sometimes you get your best shot when you ad lib anyways." On going into the A-10 Tournament with a loss: "Half the teams coming in lost their last game. We're one of those. We'll bounce back. I'm not worried at all. It would have been nice to get another win, but we're okay." On whom the Billikens might play next in the A-10 Tourney: "Either way, whoever it is. We'll be well-prepared. We'll play hard and we'll see what happens." |
