DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Warren Williams hit two free throws with four seconds left to cap a frantic final minute of play and give Dayton a 53-52 victory over Massachusetts on Tuesday night at the UD Arena. The game marked the Flyers' final home game of the regular season and UD's lone senior, guard Mark Jones, was recognized in a pregame ceremony.

Monty Scott led the Flyers (17-9, 10-5 Atlantic 10) with 15 points. Brian Roberts added 11 and Jimmy Binnie 10. In his final home game, Jones scored four points, grabbed two rebounds and had two assists.

The win, combined with George Washington's loss to Saint Joseph's tonight, puts UD back in a first-place tie with the Colonials with one game left in the regular season. A win by Dayton on Saturday at Xavier will clinch at least a share of the A-10 West Division title and a first-round bye in the A-10 Championship.

Rashaun Freeman and Lawrence Carrier had 11 points apiece for Massachusetts (15-11, 8-7), and Maurice Maxwell had 10.

With 1:02 left and the score tied, Binnie nailed a desperation, fade-away three-pointer as the shot clock expired, putting the Flyers up 51-48. But a jumper by Freeman and a dunk by Maxwell put the Minutemen ahead 52-51 with nine seconds left.

Then Freeman, whose steal set up the go-ahead dunk by Maxwell, fouled Williams, who made both free throws with four seconds left.

UD trailed 25-22 at the half.

The Flyers and Musketeers will tipoff Saturday at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati at Noon. UD will look to sweep the season series from XU in the 139th meeting between long-time rivals. The game will be live on A-10 TV (Fox Sports Ohio).
