University of Dayton Flyer Notes

Senior guard Mark Jones played in his final regular season home game Tuesday. He scored four points and dished out two assists and now holds an 84-35 career record in his four seasons as a Flyer. His first bucket of the game put UD ahead 40-39 with 8:58 remaining and UMass would not lead until the final seconds of the contest.

Dayton was 9-of-18 from three point range in the game and made its first four shots from behind the arc before missing its next seven attempts overall. In fact in the first half, UD shot 4-of-10 (40.0 percent) from three point range and just 4-of-15 (26.7 percent) from inside the arc.

The Flyers are now 7-10 when trailing at halftime under the direction of Brian Gregory.

The paid attendance for Tuesday's game was 12,488 marking the 87th straight Flyer game at UD Arena with at least 11,000 fans. A total of 201,114 fans cheered on the Flyers at UD Arena this season for an average of 12,570 per game over 16 home contests.

University of Massachusetts Minutemen Notes

The Minutemen are 10-0 this season in game where they score at least 70 points and just 5-11 when they score less than 70 points.

UMass is 10-2 in games decided by six points or less and 5-1 in three-point games.

UMass senior forward Chris Chadwick missed a free throw with 5:27 remaining to snap a streak of 18 consecutive free throws made. He was 3-for-4 from the charity stripe Tuesday night.

The Minutemen held the Flyers scoreless for a four-minute span in the first half from the 9:49 mark to 5:53 remaining in the half. During that time, UMass used a 6-0 run to take its first lead of the game at 20-18.
