Joaquin C. Thomas joined the team as a walkon after school started. A three-year starter for Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, "Keen" is attending UD on an academic scholarship.

As a senior, Thomas was limited to 11 games but still averaged 10.3 points a game as Cardinal Hayes finished third in the Catholic High Schools Athletic Association. He was named All-Division/All-City All-CHSAA. He was also named Cardinal Hayes' Top Student-Athlete in 2004.

As a junior, Thomas earned his team's Hardest Worker Award as Hayes High won the CHSAA league title.

Thomas has two brothers -- Kevin (22) and Jamal (19).
