Jonathan Roy Kingston came to UD as a recruited non-scholarship player. He was a three-year varsity starter for Grandview Heights High School, although he was only able to play one injury-free year. As a sophomore, he played in 12 games before a sprained ACL put him on the shelf. He averaged 7.9 points and 5.6 rebounds. His junior season was his only full season, and he came through with averages of 12.8 points and 7.5 rebounds, and he was named First Team All-Buckeye Athletic Conference. Another knee injury (torn MCL) held him to just ten games as a senior. He still had the best scoring average (13.0) and rebounding average (8.5) on the team, and also blocked 2.9 shots a game. Despite playing in just 10 games, he was named second team all-conference and played in the District 10 All-Star game. As a freshman at UD, he saw action in three games. Jon has an older brother, Robb (22).
