Matt Farrell is in his fourth season under coach Brian Gregory and third season as the Director of Basketball Operations for the University of Dayton.

Farrell's responsibilities include the coordination of all team travel, overseeing all aspects of the Brian Gregory Basketball Camps and all other day-to-day basketball operations.

"I like the fact that Matt has dedicated himself to working through the ranks and dedicated himself to the profession," said Gregory. "I believe he is an excellent and up-and-coming young coach who will do a tremendous job for us in the operations position."

In 2007-08, the Flyers vaulted out to a 14-1 record and a No. 14 ranking in the Associated Press poll of January 14, the highest ranking for a Dayton team in 40 years. The Flyers finished the season 23-11 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NIT.

In 2008-09, Dayton was once again a Top 25 Team. The Flyers finished 27-8, which marks the second most victories in the program's history. Dayton also advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament highlighted by a victory over West Virginia.

Prior to being promoted to Director of Basketball Operations in August 2007, Farrell was a Graduate Assistant with the Dayton men's basketball program during the 2006-07 season.

Farrell graduated from the University of Dayton with honors and holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Business Economics and a Master's in Business Administration.

While earning his degree at the undergraduate level and maintaining his status in the University of Dayton Scholar Program, he served as an assistant basketball coach at a local area high school and coached AAU basketball for several organizations, including the Indiana Elite program.
