Flyer infielder Marshall MacDonald competed for the Canadian national team in the fourth World University Baseball Championships hosted by the Czech Republic in July.

MacDonald racked up eight hits for a tournament average of .333. In seven games MacDonald's total hits ranked second among the entire Canadian team. On two occasions MacDonald went 2-for-4 during the championships.

Last season with the Flyers MacDonald finished with a .306 average and a team-leading eight home runs. MacDonald also led the team in RBI's (42) and total bases (98).

Canada finished the tournament with a 2-5 record ranking them fifth overall.
