DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton left-handed pitcher Cameron Hobson has been named to the 2009 Ping! All-Freshmen Second Team.

Hobson put up record numbers for Dayton, posting a 7-1 balance in the win-loss category for a 3.43 ERA and a school record 83 strikeouts. Additionally, his freshman efforts for the Red and Blue helped him earn this year's Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year award and Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American.

Hobson's seven wins helped UD set a new program record with 38 wins this season. The team also broke team records in hits, RBI, runs scored and batting average this season.
