McSOLEY EARNS ATLANTIC 10 ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
May 22, 2007 DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton third baseman Joe McSoley was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team on Tuesday. McSoley, a 2007 UD graduate from Indianapolis, was also named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team and has plans on attending a Medical School in the future. He finished his career with a senior season that saw him rank third on the team in RBI (28) and runs scored (35) while ranking fifth in extra-base hits (11). McSoley started all 54 games at third base and hit .261 while tying for the team lead in times hit by pitch (13). McSoley finished his career with 204 base hits including 32 doubles and 13 homers. He also scored 136 runs and drove in 135 while playing in 215 games at the hot corner in his four years as a Flyer. Dayton finished 21-33 overall and 9-18 in Atlantic 10 Conference play in 2007. The Flyers finished with their seventh 20-win season under the direction of eighth-year Head Coach Tony Vittorio. UD had 29 of its 54 games decided by two runs or less and went 11-18 in those games. |
