DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton freshman pitcher Cameron Hobson set the single-season school strikeout record notching his 83rd punchout of the season in Thursday's Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship against the University of Massachusetts Minutemen.
He bested the previous mark of 82 that was set three times, once by Tony Miller and twice by Luke Trubee.
Hobson, a Crawfordsville, Ind. native, was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year this season finishing the regular season with 78 strikeouts and a 2.45 conference ERA.
