University of Dayton senior third baseman Joe McSoley was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team on Friday following a vote of District members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

McSoley graduated on May 6 from UD with a degree in Biology and has plans on attending a Medical School in the future. He is third on the team in both runs scored (33) and RBI (25) while ranking fifth in extra-base hits (11). McSoley has started all 47 games at third base this season and holds a .272 batting average while tying for the team lead in times hit by pitch (12).

McSoley will play his final weekend series at Time Warner Cable Stadium this weekend as the Flyers play host to George Washington in a three-game Atlantic 10 series. UD and GW will square off on Friday (2:30 p.m. ET), Saturday (1 p.m. ET) and Sunday (Noon ET) in games that can be followed with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com. McSoley will also be recognized along with nine other players as part of Senior Day ceremonies before the start of Saturday's game.
