AMBLER, PA - Visiting Dayton split a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference baseball games at Temple on Saturday afternoon. The Flyers were clipped in the opener, 1-0 but rebounded to take the finale, 11-2.

UD made just one error in the first game but the miscue proved to be costly in a 1-0 loss. A throwing error on a stolen base attempt in the bottom of the first inning allowed the only run of the game to score for the Owls.

Senior Lucas Farden tossed his third complete game in the past four weekends against A-10 competition. Farden (4-7) suffered the loss despite striking out six and surrendering just one unearned run on five hits and one walk.

UD then exploded for 11 runs in the final five innings of play to exact revenge on TU, 11-2 in Saturday's finale.

A solo homer by Shawn Gizynski in the fourth inning and a two-run blast from Marshall MacDonald in the fifth got the Flyer offense going in a game that saw them tally 15 hits. Gizynski led the charge with a 3-for-5 performance that also included a double, two runs scored and two RBI.

Scott Dunwoody added a 3-for-5 effort with two runs scored and two RBI to join a group of five different Flyers to tally multiple RBI including MacDonald, Cole Tyrell and Myles Swartzel.
