BRONX, NY - Dayton dropped the rubber game of a pivotal Atlantic 10 Conference series, 4-0 at Fordham on Sunday. With the loss, UD (29-21, 16-8 A-10) falls into third place in the A-10 standings just a half game behind second-place St. Bonaventure.

UD was out hit 9-7 and had just one extra base hit on the afternoon as the Flyers were shutout for the second time in the series by the Rams.

Michael Massa smacked a triple to right centerfield in the third inning to tie Pat Bell (1998) for the most triples in UD single-season history with seven. He finished 2-for-4 on the afternoon.

Kevin Miller was the only other Flyer to record a multi-hit day with a 2-for-3 performance.

Chris Rubio made his ninth start of the season and allowed three runs on five hits over 5.0 innings pitched before leaving in the bottom of the sixth after hitting the leadoff batter with a pitch.

Cale Ort finished the sixth inning and lasted into the seventh on the mound for UD. He allowed one run on two hits before giving way to Craig Rohren who tossed the final two innings and recorded one strikeout.

Fordham started the scoring with in the third as a pair of singles and a double gave the Rams a 3-0 lead.

Dayton looked to rebound with two runners on in both the fourth and fifth innings, but fly outs ended each Flyer scoring threat without a run off Ram starter Cory Riordan who was making his first start in a month after a shoulder injury.

The Flyers also had two runners on to end the fifth and seventh innings and stranded nine runners on base during the first eight innings of play.
