COOKEVILLE, TN - Seven Flyers had multi-hit performances as Dayton beat Tennessee Tech, 14-8 in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday evening. UD (10-4) and TTU (12-5-1) will meet again on Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET in a game that can be followed with Live Stats at www.DaytonFlyers.com.

Dayton went up early on the strength of an eight-run third inning explosion and out hit host Tennessee Tech 18-15 while also taking advantage of four Golden Eagle fielding errors.

Seven of the 18 Flyer base hits went for extra bases including home runs by Jake Hoover and Cole Tyrell. Hoover also doubled twice as part of a 3-for-6 performance with two runs scored and four RBI. Tyrell had just on hit on the evening, but was also hit by a pitch while scoring twice and driving in a pair of runs.

Junior College transfer Marshall MacDonald extended his hitting streak to seven games with a 3-for-6 effort that included two runs scored and a RBI.

Jacob Spaeth, Ryan Nevill, Max Navalinski, Stephen Konsler and Jimmy Roesinger tallied two hits each for a Flyer offense that is now hitting .311 as a team.

Konsler finished with his best game ever as a Flyer with a pair of doubles while driving in two runs and scoring one while Roesinger doubled once and walked to drive in three runs and score one of his own.

The robust offense gave plenty of support to the UD pitching staff beginning with lefthander Quinn Haselhorst. The junior gave up only two runs on five hits while striking out four over 4.0 innings pitched in his second start of the season.

Senior Ryan Hill came out of the bullpen for the next 1.2 innings pitched and surrendered four runs on three hits while fanning a pair of TTU batters.

Jake Hoover earned his first save as a Flyer after striking out six batters with no walks on the day. He scattered seven hits on 3.1 innings pitched while only giving up two runs.
