DAYTON TAKES WIN OVER SHAWNEE STATE, 7-2

XENIA, Ohio - The University of Dayton Flyers soared over the Shawnee State Bears 7-2 on Thursday at Athletes in Action Field in Xenia, Ohio. Scott Dunwoody led UD going 3-for-4 at the plate collecting one run and two RBI's. Tim Lynn picked up the win pitching three innings and collecting his second win of the season. Dayton got out to an early lead in the first inning scoring the first three runs of the contest. The Bears would try to inch their way back over the next few innings putting two runs on the board, however, Dunwoody came up big in the eighth inning for the Flyers. With bases loaded, Dunwoody knocked a basehit to left center field driving home a pair of runners. Dayton scored one more time before heading into the ninth frame giving them a 7-2 advantage. Burny Mitchem stepped in for the Flyers in the top of the ninth striking out three straight batters to end the game.
