Rubio spent time at Vero Beach HS and Wellington Community HS during his prep career...As a junior, he led VBHS to Conference and District Championships...As a senior at WCHS, he repeated the feat at WCHS...He also played in the West Palm Beach All-Star game...Before coming to UD, Rubio spent two years at Indian River CC...In his first year, IRCC won the Conference Title and was ranked number one in the State...As a sophomore, he was invited to the Florida JC All-Star game.

A general studies major, Rubio was born June 3, 1984...He is the son of Miguel and Martha Rubio...He has a brother, Miguel...His cousin, Carlos Lezcano is the manager of the Lake Elsinore Storm of the Single-A Calfornia League.
