Went 5-9 with a save and a 4.89 ERA in 20 appearances including 11 starts for the Flyers...Struck out 45 batters in 77.1 innings pitched while holding opponents to a .270 batting average...Allowed just one earned run on seven hits over 5.1 innings pitched during his Flyer debut at Wofford...Earned his first win at High Point after giving up just one run on five hits over 8.0 innings pitched...Threw a complete game shutout over IPFW with six strikeouts and no walks at Time Warner Cable Stadium...Battled for a victory over A-10 rival Charlotte by scattering eight hits over 6.0 innings pitched while striking out three and giving up just two runs.
Prior to UD
Rubio spent time at Vero Beach HS and Wellington Community HS during his prep career...As a junior, he led VBHS to Conference and District Championships...As a senior at WCHS, he repeated the feat at WCHS...He also played in the West Palm Beach All-Star game...Before coming to UD, Rubio spent two years at Indian River CC...In his first year, IRCC won the Conference Title and was ranked number one in the State...As a sophomore, he was invited to the Florida JC All-Star game.

A general studies major, Rubio was born June 3, 1984...He is the son of Miguel and Martha Rubio...He has a brother, Miguel...His cousin, Carlos Lezcano is the manager of the Lake Elsinore Storm of the Single-A Calfornia League.
